Satellite Parking/Shuttle System Survey

Downtown Frederick has enjoyed phenomenal growth in the last 10 years.  This boom has exerted pressure on the existing parking infrastructure.  In order to provide an affordable and convenient parking alternative, The City of Frederick is working with Frederick County and the local business community to offer a satellite parking lot with a shuttle system to bring people in and out of Downtown Frederick. The satellite parking lot and shuttle are a part of the comprehensive downtown parking plan which includes the construction of a 4th parking garage, increases in parking rates as well as fines and changes in some regulations, such as restrictions in parking around Baker Park. 

Proposed Satellite Parking & Shuttle Service

 

·         FREE parking and shuttle rides

·         Park at Harry Grove Stadium 

·         Provides a convenient alternative for long-term parkers who do not need the frequent use of their car during the day 

·         Planned to operate between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM weekdays

·         Shuttle service every 10 minutes during peak hours and every 20-30 minutes during off peak

·         Designated drop off and pick up locations
