Mayor William J. Holtzinger has requested a Closed Session on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 6:30 PM. Mayor Holtzinger will request a vote of the Aldermen to convene the meeting as a Closed Session.

Weinberg Center Awarded Arts Organization of the Year |
During the Frederick Arts Council's Annual Dinner held on October 22, 2008, Executive Director Shuan Butcher announced that Weinberg Center for the Arts was named the "Arts Organization of the Year of Frederick County for 2008" for their local community outreach.

The City of Frederick recently received a Certificate of Recognition signed by United States Senator Barbara A. Mikulski supporting the 2008 President's Award from the Frederick Arts Council.

Candlelight House Tour |
The 2008 Candlelight House Tour will showcase eight historic homes in Frederick. Presented by Celebrate Frederick Inc., the event is held Saturday, December 6th from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, December 7th from Noon to 4 p.m.
