City of Frederick Emergency Preparedness

Dear Citizens of the City of Frederick,

The City of Frederick has occasionally experienced some severe weather related and natural disasters. In addition, the continued threat of terrorism against America both inside and outside of the Unitied States requires the City of Frederick to remain alert, prepared and well-trained to handle any eventuality. It is the responsibility of the government to plan and provide for the protection of both public and private institutions and infrastructure at all times. The City of Frederick has created an Emergency Operations Plan to prepare for and provide continued governmental operations during any man-made or environmental disaster to protect the health, safety and welfare fo the residents of our city.

The Emergency Operation Plan for the City of Frederick will be reviewed for accuracy and updated annually. The City of Frederick continues to work diligently with all levels of the emergency response community. Partnering with local, tribal, state and Federal agencies enables the City of Frederick to be part of a comprehensive information sharing network. As Mayor of the City of Frederick, I am committed to ensuring the protection of the City of Frederick.
