STATE AND LOCAL POLICE UNITING TO FORM

CRIMINAL INFORMATION TASK FORCE

                        BY STATE POLICE SUPERINTENDENT AND SHERIFFS/POLICE

CHIEFS FROM FREDERICK AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES

            Maryland State Police Superintendent Colonel Terrence B. Sheridan will join sheriffs and police chiefs from Washington and Frederick counties, to announce the formation of the Western Maryland Information Center, a new task force aimed at providing real time intelligence and logistical support to police throughout Western Maryland.  They will be joined by officials from the Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center, as well as allied federal law enforcement personnel.  Several elected officials from the local, county, state and federal levels are also expected to attend the announcement.
