SKATEBOARD & BIKE ENFORCEMENT

Due to increased damage to public and private property in the Historic District, the Frederick Police Department will strictly enforce “No Skateboarding and Bike Riding” on sidewalks which include the Carroll Creek Park. The fine for violating this ordinance is $100 and possible vehicle confiscation. We encourage any citizen witnessing violations of this or any law to contact the Frederick Police Department immediately at 301-600-2102.

Sec. 22-28.1. Non-motorized wheeled vehicles on sidewalks.

(a) A person over the age of ten (10) may not operate, ride on or use any non-motorized wheeled vehicle on any sidewalk in the historic district of the City of Frederick.
(b) A person may operate, ride on or use any non-motorized wheeled vehicle on any sidewalk outside of the historic district of the City of Frederick.
(c) A person may not operate, ride on or use any non-motorized wheeled vehicle on any public parking ramp, parking lot, or facility or any other municipally owned property.
(d) No person shall operate, ride on or use any non-motorized wheeled vehicle in a negligent manner. (Ord. No. G-03-22, 12-18-03)
