General Information

  • Preapplication Meetings
    -Submit 15 copies of a plan to the Planning Department.
    -Preapplication meetings will be scheduled within 10 business days of submittal.
    -Meetings are generally held on Thursdays, except for the Thursday of the PC workshop and DRC. See schedule above.
    -Plans will be transmitted to City Review Agencies and a planner will be assigned.
    -Applicants will be e-mailed a copy of the transmittal with the planners name, time, date, and conference room in which the meeting will be held. Any questions on this transmittal should be directed to Lea Ortiz:@301-600-3188 if not received within 5 business days.
    -City Review Agencies may respond within 10 business days or appear at the meeting with comments.
    -This process is estimated to be completed on or before a 30 day calendar period.

  • Notice: Please find below the APFO Exemption form that must be submitted with each development project or building permit for the development process.
    You should note any exemption that you feel that you or your client is eligible for and documentation: such as unconditional letter of approvals, follow up letters with conditions, or water allocation documentation, etc. We must have this form to process your applications. Once it is signed off as exempt, it will be provided to you. You should send in a signed copy each time you submit a project after you receive the signed form.

    If your project is a project that is not exempt, it will go through testing.
    Please be advised that a non-exempt project cannot be placed on a Planning Commission agenda until you receive all appropriate certificates referenced in the APFO Ordinance.
