Parks Division Summary
As of Spring 2005, the Parks Division currently maintains the following sites:
- Over 76 parks consisting of 422+ Acres of Parks and other facilities not listed below (Including 68 pavilions which will accommodate 6 – 125 each , 57 athletic fields, 36 playgrounds, 28 basketball courts.)
- 400 Acres at the Frederick Municipal Airport
- 43+ Acres at other sites such as 20 Storm Water Management Ponds, 4 Water Treatment Plants, 5 Pumping Stations and 6 Water Tanks, Dam Spillways, Conservation Areas, Sewer Easement areas, Police Pistol Range, City owned condemned areas, etc.
- 50+ Miles of Right of Way mowing along the sides of the roads
- Garden beds at City Hall, Talley Rec. Center, Diggs pool, Thomas pool and on Market Street, etc.
