REQUIREMENTS & TRAINING

• Be between the ages of 14 and 20 years
• Have a sincere interest in law enforcement
• Have no police record
• Pass a background check
• Complete the Basic Explorer Training Program.

Frederick Police Department Explorer Post members are trained in conjunction with the members of the Frederick Police Auxiliary.  Training topics include traffic direction, the criminal justice system, firearms safety, and other issues related to law enforcement.
