The Department of Engineering is composed of the following sections/divisions: 1. Land Development and Construction, 2. Utilities Planning, 3. Surveying and Mapping, 4. Traffic and 5. Building Department.

Department Organizational Chart

The Engineering Department provides numerous engineering related services to the residents, businesses and industries of the City of Frederick ranging from the development review to infrastructure planning. The Engineering Department also supports the Planning Department in the role of reviewing approving all land development servicing proposals.

The Engineering Department strives to protect the public safety, health and welfare of the citizens of Frederick by providing professional, technical expertise.
