| The City of Frederick is Now Preparing for the 2008 Annual Action Plan |
Each year, the City of Frederick requests applications for CDBG funding from project sponsors. Please note that pursuant to HUD regulations found at 24 CFR 570. 200(j), religious and faith-based organizations are eligible to participate in the CDBG program on the same basis as other non-profit organizations.
Any organization interested in applying for CDBG funding should contact the CDBG Administrator, Nichole Purcell at 301-600-2840 or npurcell@cityoffrederick.com to discuss the proposed project. The application submission schedule and other application materials are posted below.
Process for proposal submission
A pre-proposal meeting with City staff is mandatory for any organization submitting a proposal. This meeting will ensure that the project meets one of the National Objectives and the project meets HUDs Eligible Activity requirements. This meeting will also afford the opportunity to discuss the administrative and procedural requirements pertaining to the use of federal CDBG dollars. Prior to attending the pre-proposal meeting please review the CDBG Guidelines & Funding Policy and complete a 2008 CDBG Funding Application.
IMPORTANT: This meeting is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, January 29, 2008 @ 1:00pm at the Municipal Office Annex, 140 W. Patrick Street, Frederick, MD. Please confirm your attendance by Tuesday, January 22nd.

Funds anticipated for 2008
The final 2008 entitlement figures from the federal government have not been released. However, for planning purposes, the City expects to receive CDBG funds for FFY 2008, at approximately the same funding levels as the 2007 awards. The 2008 program income from repayment on loans and other revenues is anticipated to be approximately $40,000.
Technical Assistance is Available
Recognizing that CDBG regulations can be complex at times, Community Development Division staff will gladly answer questions regarding the CDBG program and/or provide you copies of CDBG handbooks, HUD regulations or other Federal requirements, e.g. OMB circulars, Labor (Davis Bacon wage) requirements etc.
