Frederick, Md. -- The Snow Emergency remains in effect for the City of Frederick . The Department of Public Works crews are working diligently to open up as much of a travel way on City streets and alleys as possible. A consequence of the plowing operations is the blocking of driveway entrances, sidewalks and cross walks. As a result, Code Enforcement will relax enforcement of the sidewalk snow clearing requirement.

City parking decks remain open and free to City residents until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9. All residents are urged to move vehicles to the decks in order to allow plow crews to continue snow removal operations. With another significant snowfall predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday, City residents should listen to local radio, read local papers, call the City's Emergency Public Information Line at 301.600.1300, watch City Cable Channel 99 and visit the City website at www.cityoffrederick.com for updates.

Mayor McClement would like to thank the citizens for their cooperation and patience during this major snow event.
