How do I get a copy of my plat?
If your home was purchased after approximately 1980, check your settlement package for a "house location survey" or contact your mortgage company to obtain a copy
Contact the map and drafting section at 301-600-3885, 301-600-1406, 301-600-1870. Please call or e-mail the department prior to visiting City Hall to make sure the City has a copy of your property drawing.

The Land Records at the Frederick County Courthouse contains all deeds, homeowner's association covenants and property plats. Contact the Frederick County Land Records at 301-600-1980.

Property ownership, tax assessment and tax identification numbers are available on the State of Maryland Web Site.

How do I obtain a map of The City of Frederick?
Contact the GIS Department for maps.

Do I need a Grading / Public Improvements Permit?
A Grading / Public Improvements Permit is required in either of the following cases:
There is more than 5,000 square feet of land being disturbed
There is work within the public right-of-way (such as sidewalk, curb and gutter, water and sewer, etc)
