Casting Call for Weinberg Center Video
Frederick, MD -- Did you ever have a dance recital at the Weinberg Center for the Arts, and now have a child who is dancing there? Were you a volunteer who helped with the theater restoration after the flood of 1976? If so, the Hooray for Hollywood committee needs you! The group is looking for anyone who has a fond memory of the Center they’d like to share. The stories will used as part of the multi-media presentation shown on New Year’s Eve at the Hooray for Hollywood Gala at the Center.
Hooray for Hollywood: A Weinberg Center New Year’s Eve Gala is a new event that promises to be what everyone will be talking about in 2008. This premier Black Tie party includes all the glamour of old Hollywood with:
dancing to nationally known 10-piece band “Round Midnight”
fabulous hors d'oeuvres and desserts catered by Canapés
an open bar, cocktail stations and a champagne toast
a Monte Carlo game room and cigar lounge
a multimedia midnight countdown show
elegant party favors, fun surprises and much more!
Discounted tickets are on sale now at the Weinberg Center box office, 301-600-2828 or through the Center’s website, www.weinbergcenter.org.
If you are interested in being a part of the video, or would like more information about the project, or the Gala, please send an email with a description of your story to Weinberggala@enforme.com. The deadline to respond is Friday, September 28th. Due to time limitations, not all of the stories will be included in the presentation.
The Weinberg Center for the Arts, a municipal facility of the City of Frederick, is located at 20 West Patrick Street in Historic Downtown Frederick, Maryland. The theatre opened in 1926 as the Tivoli, the grandest of three downtown movie palaces, and was donated to the City of Frederick in 1978.
