WATER MAIN INSTALLATION WORK CONTINUES ON EAST PATRICK STREET

Frederick, MD -- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will continue removing a 4’ to 6’ wide section of the existing pavement and concrete base material in preparation for the installation of a new 16” water main along East Patrick Street. Most of the work during this time will occur from the Market Street Intersection west to Court Street and will include pavement breakers and excavation equipment. Additionally, one day will be spent in the Carroll Street intersection to perform additional test pits on existing utilities. Once the existing pavement section is removed, the area will be filled with stone and topped with hot mix asphalt. The removal of the existing pavement and concrete base will accelerate the water main installation planned to start in January 2008. Traffic control will include lane closures and flagging operations as necessary.

For additional information, please contact Marc Stachowski, Project Manager at 301-600-1438.

IMPACT TO AREA:

1. Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

2. The project work schedule will be 10 hours per day on Monday thru Thursday with work on Fridays limited to makeup days due to inclement weather and emergencies.

3. Please note that lane closures and parking restrictions will be limited to the work zone only. Our work zone will typically cover approximately ½ to 1 block at a time. During non-working hours, lane closures and parking restrictions will not be in place...
