WEINBERG CENTER HIRES MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Frederick, MD -- Mr. John Healey, Executive Director of The Weinberg Center for the Arts, is pleased to announce that Stephanie Miller has joined the staff as Manager of Marketing and Development. Relocating in the Frederick area three years ago from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ms. Miller brings with her a wide variety of experience. Most recently, she worked in Higher Education in Northern Virginia. Ms. Miller graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004 with a BA in Urban Planning and a minor in Theatre. While pursuing her degrees, Ms. Miller co-founded STAY Pittsburgh, a non-profit company which strives to engage and empower individuals through community involvement. Ms. Miller previously worked as a Community Outreach Director and Company Manager for City Theatre Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

As Manager of Marketing and Development for the Weinberg Center, Ms. Miller will be responsible for the coordination of marketing and advertising efforts as well as development efforts that compliment the momentum created from the remarkable opening of the 2007-2008 season at the Weinberg. Ms. Miller will be working on fostering and developing relationships with local business owners, financial institutions, and media outlets in Frederick and the surrounding areas.

Stephanie comes to the Weinberg Center after an extensive national search that began in June of this year. “We had some extremely qualified applicants for this position.” Healey stated. “The Search Committee was unanimous in selecting Ms. Miller as the right person for the position.

Ms. Miller stated that she enjoys being part the community and believes collaboration is a “new” art form. She is very excited to take on this new role and is looking forward to an energetic 2007-2008 season at the Weinberg.
