WATER MAIN INSTALLATION WORK CONTINUES ON EAST PATRICK STREET
Frederick, MD -- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will continue with the water main installation along East Patrick Street between the intersections of Monocacy Blvd. and Monroe Street. Construction activity during this time will include water main tie-ins at Key Avenue and Orchard Avenue. Additional crew will be replacing water services, repairing concrete sidewalks and performing trench repairs between Monocacy Blvd. and Monroe Street. The work during this time period will begin on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. and continue with a mixture of night work (7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.) and daytime work (9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) through Friday afternoon. Traffic control will include lane closures and flagging operations as necessary. Work regarding the water main replacement in this area will follow over the next 2 to 3 months. Construction activity will be seen on East Market Street, between Monocacy Blvd. and Franklin Street through November 2007.

IMPACT TO AREA:
1. Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for daytime operations and between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. for night work operations.
2. Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).
Please note that during the progress of this work, parking along the street is strongly discouraged. During non-working hours, miscellaneous equipment and materials will be stored within the parking lanes of the streets as necessary.
