CITY GOLF PRO IN COMPLIANCE WITH TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Frederick, Md. -- The City of Frederick announced today that a review of the employment terms for the City Golf Pro, Mr. Don Frost, has been completed. Based on the original offer of employment, Mr. Frost is entitled to retain fees for golf course lessons, but the teaching time for the lessons, clinics and golf camps would not be on the clock. Mr. Frost’s conduct is fully in compliance with these provisions and is, in fact, what was anticipated by the City when Mr. Frost began employment in 1996.

Mr. Frost is also paid a percentage of sales from both the golf course and club house operations, which is set forth in the original offer of employment and through various amendments thereto. This is a mutually beneficial agreement which has proven to be successful for the City.

Through this review it is clear that the practices at the Golf Course are in accordance with the terms of employment for Mr. Frost and with industry standards. The excellent reputation of Clustered Spires Golf Course is a result of the professionalism and hard work of Mr. Frost, his assistant golf pros and the other golf course and club house employees. The Clustered Spires Course has continued in an upward trend since Mr. Frost became the golf pro and it is likely that revenues from the Golf Course will eventually help fund other City Parks and Recreation programs.
