CELEBRATE FREDERICK NAMES SUMMER NITE CINEMA MOVIES
The Sandlot, Happy Feet and My Big Fat Greek Wedding scheduled for the big screen in Baker Park.

The 2007 Summer Nite Cinema season, presented by Celebrate Frederick, will feature three family friendly films during one exciting weekend of outdoor movies! The movies will be shown on an inflatable screen in the Carillon area of Baker Park on Thursday, June 21st, Friday, June 22nd and Saturday, June 23rd.

Start the season with an evening at the ball game with PG-rated The Sandlot on Thursday, June 21st. Tap dancing penguins will fill the screen on Friday, June 22nd with animated favorite, Happy Feet, rated PG. And to close out the season, hilarity and romance ensues with PG-rated My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Movies begin at dusk, but plan to arrive at 7 p.m. each evening for special programming. The Frederick Keys will help kick off the weekend with baseball related activities prior to The Sandlot. Be sure to arrive early on Friday, June 22nd and get in a toe tapping mood with a tap dance exhibition, courtesy of local dance studios in the Frederick community. The Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church will help set the stage for the Saturday, June 23rd showing of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Come hungry and enjoy baklava and other items from the Church, as well as authentic Greek dances and entertainment.

Remember to bring lawn chairs or blankets, and your favorite sweatshirt to help keep you warm when the sun goes down. In lieu of admission, the Summer Nite Cinema Committee asks attendees to bring a canned food item to benefit the Frederick Food Bank. A special screening of the movies for the hearing impaired will be featured.
