LATIN MUSIC GROUP ‘INCENDIO’ KICKS OFF THE
2007 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

The Summer Concert Series Committee of Celebrate Frederick, Inc. is proud to announce that Los-Angeles based, Latin guitar world fusion group, Incendio, will kick off the 2007 season on Sunday, June 10th! The free concert will begin at 7pm in the Baker Park Bandshell, Frederick, Maryland. It’s that time of year to dust-off your lawn chair and get ready for some awesome music in the park!

It is no surprise that Incendio’s music has been influenced by many different cultures. Each member of Incendio creates music according to personal experiences in other countries, as well as personal experiences with different ethnic performers they worked with in the past.

From Middle Eastern and flamenco music to Indian and Moorish music, this Latin group creates a mix that continually thrills audiences across the country. They have performed close to 200 shows a year in the United States, while songs from many of their albums have been played on hundreds of radios. They are constantly being described as a fusion group that is ambitious, energetic, explosive, and uplifting.

Prepare to arrive early with your blanket or lawn chair to enjoy a free Carillon performance in Baker Park beginning at 6 pm. Great snack foods will be available from 6pm to 8:30pm during the Summer Concert Series performance.

While the concerts are FREE to the public, the Summer Concert Series Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. Non-perishable items such as canned meats and vegetables, soups, peanut butter, cereal rice and pastas are requested. All items collected benefit the Frederick City Community Action Agency Food Bank. Items will be collected at the Drees Homes Information Booth, located at the top of the bandshell steps in Baker Park.

In the event of inclement weather, please tune to 99.9 WFRE, 103.1 WAFY or 106.9 WWEG for news of event cancellation. Due to the travel time and set-up by various artists and the sound production company, decisions regarding weather are made by approx. 4:00 PM. Therefore, if the weather is inclement at this time listen to the radio for confirmation of the evening’s performance being cancelled.
