ANNUAL GYPSY MOTH SPRAYING OPERATION SCHEDULED TO START
FREDERICK, MD ---- Beginning May 3, 2007, Summit Helicopters, under contract with Maryland Department of Agriculture, will begin their annual Gypsy Moth spraying operations for Frederick County and other surrounding counties.
The helicopters will be operating at low altitude above the trees and will pass back and forth over the affected area. An official of the Department of Agriculture will be operating in a radio equipped ground vehicle and will be in direct communication with the helicopter pilot at all times.
In addition, Summit Helicopters will be utilizing the pavement area adjacent to T-Hangar Unit G and Taxiway D during daylight hours for three weeks this month. They will be operating three helicopters with spray apparatus during that time.
