CELEBRATE FREDERICK ANNOUNCES PERFORMANCE LINE-UP
FOR THE 2007 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

The 2007 Summer Concert Series presented by Celebrate Frederick is ready to rock the Baker Park Bandshell beginning on Sunday, June 10th and continuing every Sunday evening at
7 p.m. through August 26th. This year’s performance line-up features a little bit of everything from jazz to bluegrass to reggae to rock-n-roll to hip hop!
Following is the performance line-up:

June 10 – Incendio - Latin
This Los Angeles-based, Latin guitar world fusion group will provide a live show that is ambitious, energetic, explosive and ultimately, uplifting. Their fiery brand of melodic guitar and dynamic interplay is being discovered around the world. Memorable melodies and modern world rhythms abound as the group takes the listener on a global journey.

June 17- 106.9 The Eagle Presents Tranzfusion – Classic Rock
Tranzfusion is a five-member, classic rock band who have been playing together for 25 years. If you are into great music performed with excellence, this band is a must see. Playing all the hits you

June 24 - Tom Principato - Blues
A singer, songwriter from Washington, DC, Tom Principato is one of the most unique guitarists around. Combining his rich blues background with high energy rock, and a highly-charged, emotionally expressive delivery, this artist will be sure to entertain the crowd in Baker Park. www.tomprincipato.com

July 1 - Railroad Earth – New Grass
Back by popular demand, Railroad Earth has been an undeniable force whose superb songwriting, singing and performances have made them one of the most talked about bands With over 400 shows and tens of thousands of road miles between them, RRE has built a huge following of loyal fans that document and trade event note they play. In case of inclement weather, this show will be moved to the Weinberg Center for the Arts with limited seating available. www.railroadearth.com

July 8 - Janine Wilson Band – Roots Rock
Wilson’s eclectic taste has influenced her style, drawing inspiration from greats like Etta James and Elvis Costello. Her music is best described as roots rock/Americana with a bit of blues and soul for good measure. With the backing of some of the Capitol-area’s finest players, her live performances have accumulated both a loyal fan base and critical acclaim. www.janinewilsonband.com

July 15 – SOJA - Reggae
Soldiers of Jah Army (SOJA) is rooted in reggae, but they are not limited to it, and their fan base reflects this with a very diverse population. The band, originally formed in the Washington, DC area in 1997, grew up listening to reggae, hip-hop, and rock. In their sound, reggae has become the predominate influence because it is dedicated to a real message and promotes revolution. www.sojamusic.com

July 22 - David Bach Consort - Jazz
David Bach’s new world jazz style was developed and influenced by traveling the world as an Air Force brat at the early age of six. Stopovers all around the world served to widen his appreciation for diverse styles of music. July 29 – SoulStice – Hip Hop
Combining a soulful blend of Chicago funk and east-coast boom-bap, SoulStice makes what he insists is “commercial music” with awareness and attitude. With his unique brand of hip hop, SoulStice has shared the stage with artists as diverse as John Legend and Wu-Tang Clan and passionate live performances have allowed him to tour throughout the US and Europe. www.wanderingsoul.com

August 5 - Red Molly – Folk, Bluegrass
Delightful and inspiring, the magic of Red Molly stems from the richness and musical diversity of the trio. Audiences will be mesmerized by their shimmering harmonies and true folk music that comes from the right place. Critics hail “You hear and feel the soul inside the songs.” www.redmolly.com

August 12 - COMSTAR Federal Credit Union Presents Great Train Robbery – Classic Rock
For more than two decades, GTR has been entertaining audiences all along the east coast, releasing seven albums, and performing more than 4,000 shows. The band has shared the stage with top notch performers like The Allman Brothers, 38 Special, Kansas, Marshall Tucker and Lynyrd Skynyrd. www.comstarfcu.org

August 19 – 99.9 WFRE Presents Laura Bryna and Dusty Drake – Country
Laura Bryna, a talented and versatile young artist, will open for headliner Dusty Drake. Dusty Drake has proven himself as a hit songwriter, a dynamic stage entertainer and a popular television personality – now he is gunning for radio stardom!

August 26 - The Crawdaddies - Zydeco
A band founded in 1995 on the premise of “why not, it might just work,” The Crawdaddies infuse Cajun, Zydeco, Funk, Swing, Soul, Reggae, Roots and Rock into an incomparable, groove-laden sound that is unquestionably its own. Don’t miss the good time spirit of their set as the close out the 2007 Summer Concert Series in Baker Park. www.thecrawdaddies.com

Plan to arrive early with your blanket or lawn chair, to enjoy a free Carillon performance in Baker Park beginning at 6 p.m. Great snack foods and drinks will be available from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the Concert Series performance.

While the concerts are FREE to the public, the Summer Concert Series Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. Non-perishable items such as canned meats and vegetables, soups, peanut butter, cereal, rice and pastas are requested. All items collected benefit the Frederick City Community Action Agency Food Bank. Items will be collected at the Drees Homes Information Booth, located at the top of the bandshell steps in Baker Park.

In the event of inclement weather, please tune to 99.9 WFRE, 103.1 WAFY or 106.9 WWEG for news of event cancellation. Due to the travel time and set-up by various artists and the sound production company, decisions regarding weather are made by approx. 4:00 PM. Therefore, if the weather is inclement at this time, listen to the radio for confirmation of the evening’s performance being cancelled.
