CITY OF FREDERICK SEEKS TO FILL VACANCIES ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick is currently seeking applicants interested in filling positions on the Historic Preservation Commission. Currently open on the Historic Preservation Commission is one full member position and one alternate member position. The chosen applicants, including the alternate, must be able to attend the monthly meetings held both the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM. Each member will be paid $25.00 per meeting.

Individuals who fill these positions must possess a special interest or have specific experience and/or education in history, architecture, architectural history, planning, archeology, curator, historic preservation, urban design, or related fields. A majority of the HPC members must be residents of the City of Frederick.

The Historic District Commission Board is responsible for reviewing and considering any applications for any type of construction, alteration, reconstruction, moving, or demolition on any structure within the historic district. Serving on this commission is an excellent way to become involved with the community.
