MAYOR HOLTZINGER TO PRESENT PROPOSED FY08 BUDGET TO BOARD OF ALDERMEN AND PUBLIC ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21

Frederick, MD --- Mayor William J. Holtzinger will present the FY08 draft budget to the Board of Aldermen at the March 21st 3:00 PM Mayor and Board of Aldermen Workshop.

Copies of a summary of the Mayor’s proposed budget will be available March 21st at the reception desk at City Hall and on the Finance Department page of the City’s web site at www.cityoffrederick.com. Requests to have the summary mailed can be made by calling 301.600.1380. The complete proposed budget will be available for review at the reception desk at City Hall.

Public comment on the proposed budget is encouraged during the Mayor and Board of Aldermen Workshops. The Workshop meetings will be held in the Boardroom of City Hall and will be televised live on Channel 99 as well as rebroadcasted for several days following each meeting.

Please note the advertised schedule of FY08 Budget topics. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen Workshops will be held on the following Wednesdays at 3:00PM unless otherwise noted. The timeline and subject matter below is subject to change.

The Board of Aldermen are scheduled to set the Tax Rate and adopt the FY08 Budget at the Thursday, May 17, 2007 Mayor and Board of Aldermen Public Meeting at 7:00 PM in the Boardroom of City Hall. There will be an opportunity for public comment.
