CODE ENFORCEMENT ANNOUNCES THE ONGOING RESULTS OF OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick Code Enforcement Department has announced the completion of the third “Operation Clean Sweep.” Code Enforcement personnel conducted Operation Clean Sweep in the NAC 5 area on May 31, 2007 converging on areas bordered by Route 40 to Shookstown Road and Baughman’s Lane to Bowers Road. As a result of the sweep, officers handed out 77 Notices of Violations covering 91 different code violations with breakdown as follows: 56 violations for grass exceeding ten inches; 21violations for filth and rubbish; 12 violations for unlicensed or inoperable vehicles; and 2 violations for trees hanging too closely to the sidewalk. Other violations noted but not cited are as follows: construction of sheds without permits, potential overcrowding issues and disabled parked vehicles along the street. These violations were reported to the appropriate departments for resolution.
