RIBBON CUTTING SCHEDULED FOR EDWARD P. THOMAS POOL

Frederick, MD – A ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of the newly renovated Edward P. Thomas Memorial Swimming Pool will be held on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. The City pool is located in Baker Park on Fleming Avenue. The ribbon cutting ceremony is open to the public.

The renovation project included both maintenance and cosmetic aspects. The pool filtration system was replaced and a leak in the diving well was repaired. New tile and coping, new white coat, bath house upgrades, portable lifeguard stands, 3 large umbrella shade structures, and a wrought iron fence are visible improvements for the community. In addition, two rain drop mushrooms and a tumble bucket bring water play features for the pool patrons to enjoy.

The Edward P. Thomas Pool will be open to the public beginning Monday, June 18, 2007 from 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.
