WATER SHUT OFF TO OCCUR ON MAGNOLIA AVENUE ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1, 2007

Frederick, MD – Please be advised that on Wednesday August 1, 2007, The City of Frederick’s Water Department will be replacing a fire hydrant on Magnolia Ave. The water will be shut off in order to complete this work. The work will begin Wednesday at approximately 9:00 a.m. and the water should be turned back on at approximately 1:00 p.m. Upon turning the water back on, there may be some discolored water. This is normal when the water line has been disturbed for maintenance work. Should residents experience discolored water, please open the faucets and let the cold water only run for about 15 – 20 minutes. This should clear up the discoloration. Please note that this water is gray water and can be collected and used for outdoor watering of shrubs and gardens.

For additional information, please contact the Department of Public Works at 301.600.1440.
