WATER DISTRIBUTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT ON OPOSSUMTOWN PIKE

Frederick, MD --- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. crews will continue water main installations along Opossumtown Pike and Hayward Road. Additionally, a crew is scheduled for a water main tie-in Monday January 15, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Opossumtown Pike near the main entrance to Frederick Community College. Shut down notices will be distributed to those that will be affected. Finally, crews will also be performing permanent trench repairs and concrete curb restoration as weather permits.

A lane closure will be in place, as necessary, between Poole Jones Road and the main entrance to Frederick Community College for all southbound traffic on Opossumtown Pike. Additionally, lane closures will be in place, as necessary, between Opossumtown Pike and Morning Dew Lane for all eastbound traffic on Hayward Road. The water main installation will continue on Opossumtown Pike and Hayward Road for approximately 3 months.

IMPACT TO AREA:

Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
