ENFORCEMENT OF CODE TO BEGIN REMOVAL OF SNOW AND ICE FROM SIDEWALKS

Frederick, MD --- The City of Frederick Department of Code Enforcement will start inspections to begin enforcement of Section 22-16 of the City of Frederick, Maryland Code, titled, Removal of Snow and Ice From Sidewalks on Friday, February 23, 2007. All owners or persons in possession of any land or premises situated on any street within the city, where sidewalks are laid, are responsible for the removal of snow and ice from the entire length of the walk and for a width of at least four (4) feet.

Property owners who do not comply by Monday, February 26, 2007 will be cited. Any person or property owner who has been cited will have 4 hours to remove snow/ice or the City will do so and charge the cost thereof to the property owner.
