CITY SUSPENDS SNOW REMOVAL OPERATIONS

Frederick, MD --- The City of Frederick Departments of Public Works will suspend snow and ice removal operations effective 4:00 PM, Friday, February 16, 2007. This will allow for repair and maintenance of equipment as well as much needed rest for City crews. All snow and ice covered roads in developments have been heavily salted with the anticipation that rising temperatures will allow for melting to occur.

In addition, the City of Frederick Code Enforcement Department will delay the enforcement of Section 22-16 of the City of Frederick Maryland Code titled “Removal of Snow and Ice from Sidewalks” until Monday, February 19, 2007.

The Frederick City Police Department asked that citizens to be cognizant of parking in front of driveways and alleyways. Parking in front of fire hydrants is prohibited.
