WATER MAIN RELACEMENT WORK CONTINUES ON EAST PATRICK STREET

Frederick, MD -- Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will continue with the water main installation along East Patrick Street between the intersections of Monocacy Blvd. & Monroe Street. Construction activity during this time will be concentrated between Davis Ave. & Monroe Ave. for the water main installation while permanent trench patching will begin continue between Monocacy Blvd. & Davis Ave. The work during this time period will begin on Tuesday night (September 4, 2007) at 7:00 p.m. and continue with a mixture of night work (7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.) and daytime work (9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) through Friday. Traffic control will include lane closures and flagging operations as necessary. Work regarding the water main replacement in this area will follow over the next 4 to 5 months. Construction activity will be seen on East Market Street, between Monocacy Blvd. and Franklin St. through November 2007.

IMPACT TO AREA:

Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for daytime operations and between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. for night work operations.
2. Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).

3. Please note that during the progress of this work, parking along the street is strongly discouraged. During non-working hours, miscellaneous equipment and materials will be stored within the parking lanes of the streets as necessary.
