CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE TO MEET ON SEPTEMBER 6, 2007
Frederick, MD. -- The Charter Review Committee for the City of Frederick will hold its first meeting on Thursday, September 6, 2007. The Charter Review Committee was established by Mayor Jeff Holtzinger with a focus of reviewing the Charter and Code of the City of Frederick and making recommendations for possible changes. The Charter workgroup consists of City Attorney Saundra Nickols and six residents of the City of Frederick. The six residents are Bernard Bordenick, retired attorney; Paul Frey, management consultant; Randy McClement, local business owner; W. Jerome Offutt, attorney; Dick Zimmerman, attorney/mediator and Alderman C. Paul Smith.
Mayor Holtzinger stated, “This committee will greatly assist with the workload of reviewing the Charter and allow for the review to be completed in a short time frame. One of the work group members, Jerome Offutt, Esquire, was the last person to undertake a major update of the Charter and brings tremendous institutional knowledge to the process.”
This meeting will be held at 3:30 PM in Room 212 of City Hall.
