WATER MAIN AND SERVICE REPLACEMENT TO CONTINUE ON WEST 12TH STREET

Frederick, MD -- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will continue with the installation of the new water main on West 12th Street. Activities during this time will include water service replacements and saw cutting of pavement in preparation for final restoration. Work regarding the water main replacement in this area will follow over the next 2 to 3 months. Construction activity will be seen on West 12th Street, between Motter Avenue and North Market Street through September 2007.

IMPACT TO AREA:

Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Temporary traffic detours will be installed on a daily basis, as needed, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During these temporary detours, only local traffic and deliveries will be permitted on the street being worked on.
3. Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).

4. Please note that during the progress of this work, parking along the street is strongly discouraged. During non-working hours, miscellaneous equipment and materials will be stored within the parking lanes of the streets as necessary.
