MAYOR CALLS FOR CLOSED SESSION

Frederick, Md. --- Mayor William J. Holtzinger has requested a Closed Session on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 immediately following the 3:00 PM Workshop meeting. Mayor Holtzinger will request a vote of the Aldermen to convene the meeting as a Closed Session. This action is in accordance with the authority granted under the Annotated Code of Maryland, State Government Article, Section 10-508(a)(1)(i) to discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom it has jurisdiction; Section 10-508(a)(3) to consider the acquisition of real property for a public purpose and matters directly related thereto; Section 10-508(a)(7) to consult with counsel to obtain legal advice on a legal matter; and Section 10-50 8(a)(8) to consult with staff, consultants or other individuals about pending or potential litigation.

Mayor Holtzinger will entertain a motion to this effect immediately following the conclusion of the 3:00 PM Workshop and will comply with the Open Meetings Act to the fullest extent.
