FREDERICK COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY NOW OFFERS THE PRIMARY ADULT CARE PROGRAM

The Primary Adult Care (PAC) Program is a new State-funded initiative that provides free medical care to lower-income adults (ages 19 to 65). The PAC Program, funded by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, is operated locally by the Frederick Community Action Agency. The Frederick Community Action Agency operates a primary health care clinic that is staffed by nurse practitioners and physicians. The health care clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments may be scheduled, but walk-in hours are also available on a regular basis.

In order to be eligible for the PAC Program, a person must complete an application and meet the income-eligibility guidelines. Outreach Workers and Case Managers at the Frederick Community Action Agency are available to help people to complete applications for the PAC Program. Once enrolled, eligible recipients must select a Managed Care Organization (MCO), as well as, a local health care provider. The Frederick Community Action Agency, a local provider under the PAC Program, is pleased to announce it has joined Maryland Physicians Care MCO and is now accepting new patients who are enrolled with PAC Program. In addition to providing primary health care services, the PAC Program provides assistance for prescription medications and annual eye examinations.

For more information on how to obtain free medical care and pharmacy assistance, contact Nick Brown, Manager of Outreach Services at the Frederick Community Action Agency at 301-600-1506 or by email at nbrown@cityoffrederick.com.
