HONORING THE VICTIMS OF VIRGINIA TECH
Flags at Half-Staff
Frederick, Md. --- In response to the Proclamation issued from the President of the United States honoring the victims of the tragedy at Virginia Tech, the City of Frederick will fly the flag of the United States at half-staff until Sunday, April 22nd at sunset. The flag of the State of Maryland will be flown at half-staff until further notice under the direction of Governor Martin O’Malley. In addition, Mayor William J. Holtzinger has ordered the flag of the City of Frederick to fly at half-staff until further notice.
Mayor Holtzinger said, “My heart goes out to the families and students affected by this horrific tragedy. I know we have many families in this area with children attending Virginia Tech and our thoughts are with you, your families and friends.”
