UPDATE ON AUTOMATED TRASH PROGRAM AND REVISIONS TO TRASH COLLECTION DATES

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick will deliver 3,700 new carts in the month of June for July 1st start date for automated trash expansion to single family homes in: Linden Hills, Wyngate, Brigadoon, Catoctin Park., Carrollton, Fairfield, West Brook, Rosedale, Monocracy Woods, Mt. Olivet heights, Hillcrest, Grove Boulevard, Lindbergh Avenue, Lindbergh Court, 2nd Street, West College,. Upper College, Fleming Avenue, Rockwell Terrace, N. College Parkway, Dill Avenue, Evergreen Avenue, Apple Avenue, Culler Avenue, Belmont Avenue, West 12th Street, Beech wood Drive, Pinewood Drive, Oakwood Drive, West 13th Street, Frederick Avenue, North Market Street, E.14th Street, E.15th Street, Motter Place, Trail Avenue, Elm Street, Peter’s Lane, E.9th Street, W. 9th Street, Montclair, Broadway, McMurray Street, Washington Street, Madison Street, Sherman Avenue, Burke Street, Center Street.

Residents are asked to continue placing trash outside as they typically have been UNTIL receipt of the cart. Once a resident has received the cart they should begin using it immediately. It is anticipated that all carts will be delivered by Sunday, July 1, 2007.

Also, to increase the efficiency of operations and in conjunction with the implementation of automated trash collection, effective January 1, 2007, the City of Frederick made some changes to trash collection schedules. Homes affected by these changes will be notified in mid-April and May.

1) Residences in Linden Hills and portions of Hillcrest will have trash collection times changed to the following: Set out trash after 5 p.m. on Sunday nights for Monday midnight to 8 a.m. collection and set out trash after 5 p.m. on Wednesday nights for Thursday midnight to 8 a.m. collection.

2) Residences in the Carrollton Drive, Wyngate Drive Area, Brigadoon, Catoctin Park, Center Street, Broadway, McMurray, Sherman, Washington Street, Madison Street, and Burke Street will have trash collection times changed to the following: Set out trash after 5 p.m. on Monday nights for Tuesday midnight to 8 a.m. collection and set out trash after 5 p.m. on Thursday nights for Friday midnight to 8 a.m. collection.

3) Residents in all other areas: No change to current collection schedules.

Residents can log onto the City of Frederick’s website at www.cityoffrederick.com to view the trash collection service map of the areas affected and to get additional information on automated trash collection.
