MAYOR CALLS FOR CLOSED SESSION TO FOLLOW MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN WORKSHOP  

Frederick, MD --- Mayor William J. Holtzinger has requested a Closed Session to immediately follow the adjournment of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen Workshop Meeting on Wednesday, September 6, 2006. Mayor Holtzinger will request a vote of the Aldermen to convene the meeting as a Closed Session. This action is in accordance with the authority granted under the Annotated Code of Maryland, State Government Article, Section 10-508(a)(1)(i) to discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom it has jurisdiction; Section 10-508(a)(3) to consider the acquisition of real property for a public purpose and matters directly related thereto; and Section 508(a)(7) to consult with counsel to obtain legal advice on a legal matter.

Mayor Holtzinger will entertain a motion to this effect immediately following adjournment of the 2:00 PM Workshop meeting and will comply with the Open Meetings Act to the fullest extent.
