WATER DISTRIBUTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT ON JEFFERSON STREET FROM PROSPECT BOULEVARD TO WEST PATRICK STREET
Frederick, MD. - Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will continue performing the permanent restoration on the project. This will include sidewalk restoration for the areas disturbed during construction. The remaining restoration work is located between Catoctin Ave. and West Patrick St. Scheduled construction date is October 27, 2006 through November 3, 2006.
A traffic detour will be in place, as necessary, between Catoctin Ave. and South Street for all northbound traffic on Jefferson Street. The intended detour route for all traffic heading north on Jefferson Street will be a left turn onto Catoctin Ave. to either South Street or Patrick Street. The southbound lane of Jefferson Street will remain open to normal traffic flow during Phase 2. The water main replacement will continue on Jefferson Street for approximately 1 month. Construction activity will be seen on Jefferson Street, between Prospect Blvd. and West Patrick St. through November 2006.
IMPACT TO AREA :
- Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Temporary traffic detours will be installed on a daily basis, as needed, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During these temporary detours, only northbound traffic will be detoured on South Jefferson Street, between Catoctin Avenue and East South Street. The intended detour route for all traffic heading north on Jefferson Street will be a left turn onto Catoctin Ave. to either South Street or Patrick Street. The southbound lane of Jefferson Street will remain open to normal traffic flow during Phase 2.
- Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).
- Please note that during the progress of this work, parking along the street is strongly discouraged. During non-working hours, miscellaneous equipment and materials will be stored within the parking lanes of the streets as necessary.
