WORKFORCE HOUSING SUMMIT TO BE HELD IN HAGERSTOWN, MARYLAND

Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised, a Workforce Housing Summit meeting will be held in Hagerstown, Maryland on Thursday, October 26, 2006 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 1 Franklin Street. Workforce housing has been identified as an issue of critical importance to Maryland citizens. Workforce Housing Summit meetings were created as a result of the Workforce Housing Task Force analysis of the workforce housing situation and issues in the State of Maryland. The Workforce Housing Task Force submitted 20 recommendations to the Maryland Department of Planning that they felt could and should be implemented to assist with the housing availability to citizens in critical segments of our workforce. This summit is one of a series entitled “IMPLEMENT 20” which have been scheduled around the State of Maryland for the purpose of bringing together individuals and groups who can help make these 20 recommendations a reality. Mayor Jeff Holtzinger stated that, “Attendance at this summit will be well worth the time of anyone interested in this issue.”
