WATER MAIN AND WATER SERVICE INSTALLATIONS ON MILITARY ROAD CONTINUE NEXT WEEK

Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will continue the water main and water service installations on Military Road, from Meade Avenue to 7th Street during the week of May 8 - 12. Please note that a detour will be in place during working hours for northbound traffic on Military Road. The water main replacement and associated work in this area will continue for approximately two months. Construction activity will be seen on Military Road, between Meade Avenue and 7th Street through July 2006.

IMPACT TO AREA:
Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 7 a.m. – 5 p.m..
Temporary traffic detours will be installed on a daily basis, as needed, from 6:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. During these temporary detours, only southbound traffic will be permitted on Military Road, between 7th Street and Meade Ave. The intended detour route for northbound traffic on Military Road will be Meade Avenue to Lee Place to West 7th Street.
Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).
Please note that during the progress of this work, parking along the street is strongly discouraged. During non-working hours, miscellaneous equipment and materials will be stored within the parking lanes of the streets as necessary.
