RE:     Summer Nite Cinema- Saturday, June 10

Summer Nite Cinema Comes Back to Baker Park

Summer Nite Cinema makes a splash with this year’s first movie event in Baker Park! On Saturday, June 10th, come see the PG rated movie “Shark Tale” under the stars as Celebrate Frederick presents its third season of free outdoor movie fun for the entire family! Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, this whale of a tale begins at approx. 9pm.

Come early, and Baker Park will be transformed into an underwater sea of activities for the kids with a pre-movie party beginning at 7pm. Enjoy children’s activities, delicious food, music and live entertainment in the bandshell, featuring the Dewy Decimal Dancers from the Frederick County Public Library. They will also be on hand throughout the party to sign kids up for the Children’s Summer Reading Program.

New this summer, a special screening of the movie for the hearing impaired will be featured. In lieu of admission, attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food item to benefit the Frederick Food Bank. A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, June 17th.

This event would not be possible without the generous financial contributions made by the following community-minded businesses: Spires Sponsors - Bechtel Foundation, Cellular One, Drees Homes, Sandy Spring Bank, Spectrum Federal Credit Union and Weis Markets; Carillon Sponsors – Adelphia, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Roy Rogers-A Plamondon Co., and The Frederick News-Post: Bandshell Sponsors – BB&T and the Frederick Arts Council. A special thank you to KEY 103.1 for their continued support.
