MAYOR CALLS FOR CLOSED SESSION TO PRECEDE REGULARLY SCHEDULED MAYOR
AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN WORKSHOP

Frederick, Md. --- Mayor William J. Holtzinger has requested a Closed Session to precede the regularly scheduled Mayor and Board of Aldermen Public Meeting on Wednesday, March 29, at 1 p.m. Mayor Holtzinger will request a vote of the Aldermen to convene the meeting as a Closed Session. This action is in accordance with the authority granted under the Annotated Code of Maryland, State Government Article, Section 10-508(a)(1)(i) which states that a public body may meet in closed session to discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance evaluation of appointees, employees, or officials over whom it has jurisdiction, and Section 10-508(a)(7) which states that a public body may meet in closed session to consult with counsel to obtain legal advice on a legal matter, and Section 10-508(a)(3) which states that a public body may meet in closed session to consider the acquisition of real property for a public purpose and matters directly related thereto, and Section 10-508(a)(9) which states that a public body may meet in closed session to consider matters that relate to collective bargaining negotiations.
The Mayor will entertain a motion to this effect at 1 p.m. and will comply with the Open Meetings Act to the fullest extent.
