2006 ANNUAL STREET AND PARK TREE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

Frederick, Md. --- The City of Frederick recently released the 2006 Annual Street and Park Tree Maintenance schedule. The City will perform maintenance pruning on trees in the following areas:
West Church Street, 3rd Street, 5th Street, 7th Street, 9th Street, 13th Street,
15th Street, All Saint Street, Mt Olivet Boulevard, Carroll Street,
Rockwell Terrace, Upper College Avenue, Hillcrest Drive, Old Stage Road,
Fox Run Court, Split Rail Lane, Shaffer Drive, Willowdale Drive,
Thames Drive and Amber Meadows.

The primary objective to maintenance pruning is to maintain and/or improve tree health and structure. Pruning will include removal of deadwood greater than two-inch diameter and specialty treatments (raising branch height, street light and wire clearance, crossing or broken branches). There must be a vertical clearance of a minimum of 15 feet over streets, 9 feet over sidewalks and 3 feet off buildings.
