City of Frederick, Department of Economic Development to hold Business Reception
Frederick, MD – The City of Frederick, Department of Economic Development (DED) will hold a Business Reception, March 23 rd, at the Weinberg Center for the Arts. The free reception, being held from 5:00pm – 8:00pm, will feature keynote speaker, Mr. Jack Schultz, author of the recent bestseller, “Boomtown USA” and the premiere of the new DED Marketing short film, “Frederick: A Great Business Destination”. The film is being produced by ID Makers, a locally owned company that specializes in Digital Media and Corporate Image Design services. Hors d’oeuvres & cash bar will be provided. This free event is open to the public –RSVP’s are required.
Keynote speaker, Jack Schultz is an entrepreneur and author whose research has been published in USA Today, Forbes and Business Week. In 2005, Jack won Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his accomplishments fueled by his ambition and passion for rural America. His presentation for the evening is entitled, “Hometown Entrepreneurs – Your New Paradigm Shift in Economic Development” will be of great interest not only to local businesses but to citizens alike.
The streaming, high definition, short Economic Development film will be available on the City of Frederick Website this spring. The film will highlight business development and expansion throughout the City and will be used as a marketing tool for business recruitment.
The mission of DED is to increase economic opportunities in the City of Frederick through job creation, revitalization and reinvestment.
