CELEBRATE FREDERICK RECEIVES GOLD MEDAL
SPONSORSHIP AWARD
Celebrate Frederick won a Gold medal award for the Best Sponsorship Solicitation Package utilized by any event in the 22 State Region for its package to recruit and sign sponsors. The award was received at the International Festival and Events Association (IFEA) 2006 Northeast Regional Conference in Dublin, Ohio on Monday, February 27th, 2006. During the Conference, IFEA paid tribute to the special events produced by Celebrate Frederick and The City of Frederick.
“This prestigious awards competition recognizes the highest degree of excellence in festival and event promotions, and in doing so, has raised the standards and quality of media promotions industry-wide, ” said Tom Kwiatek, IFEA’s Regional Director.
This professional competition drew over 200 entries from among the region’s top festivals and events. Winning entries came from organizations as diverse as The Kentucky Derby Festival in Louisville, KY; Autumn Leaf Festival in Clarion, PA; Events produced by Ocean City, MD; The Pittsburgh Irish Festival in Pittsburgh, PA; The Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Festival in Cleveland, OH; and others. Entries included posters, merchandise, websites, print and broadcast ads, volunteer programs, community outreach programs, and many other categories.
Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, The International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) is a non-profit membership organization with members spanning 40 countries and 5 continents, offering the most complete source of ideas, resources, information, education, and networking for festival and event professionals worldwide.
Celebrate Frederick is a non-profit 501 c 3 entity partnering with The City of Frederick to produce thirteen annual events including the Beyond the Garden Gates Garden Tour, Summer Concert Series, Summerfest Family Theatre, Summer Nite Cinema, Frederick’s 4th- An Independence Day Celebration, IN THE STREET and The Holidays in Frederick. Corporate donations fund these City-sponsored special events and sponsors are recruited on a variety of partnership levels.
