FREDERICK’S 4TH BEST PATRIOTIC DRESSED COMPETITION
IN BAKER PARK

Frederick’s 4th – An Independence Day Celebration is excited to present the Fifth Annual Best Patriotic Dressed Competition. Be sure to show your spirit by dressing in your best red, white, and blue patriotic attire! 106.9 The Eagle will be hosting this year’s competition in the Bandshell at 5:15 p.m.
Participants will be judged on who looks the most patriotic, based on originality and the best use of red, white, and blue. There are two categories for our patriotic participants to compete in, Young Adult (ages 10-14) and Adult (ages 15 and up). Great prizes will be given to the winners of both categories. If you’re not participating in the competition, you still have a chance to join in the fun. One guest judge will be selected from the audience to accompany our other two judges in choosing the winners. Have little ones that want to strut their stuff in red, white, and blue? Anyone 9 and under is encouraged to dress up for our Second Annual Patriotic Parade! Each child participating will receive a special ribbon. Registration for the competition and the parade are not required. Participants are asked to meet at the Bandshell by 5:00 p.m. Good Luck!
Come early and enjoy many of the other activities. All afternoon the Carillon area will be alive with crafts, amusements, pony rides and many other children’s activities. In the Culler Lake area from noon to dusk you can test your strength on the rock climbing wall. Enjoy the fireworks display from the water or just sail around Culler Lake! Canoes, paddle boats, and kiwi kayaks will be available to rent from noon to 10 p.m. with partial proceeds benefiting Frederick’s 4th. Feeling hungry? Join the pie eating contest at 1:30 p.m. located on the corner of College and Fleming Avenues. Contestants will be judged on how fast they can eat a delicious pie. Must be 18 years or older to participate in the pie eating contest.
All of this year’s events would not be possible without the generous support of many of Frederick’s local businesses. The Spires level sponsors are Bechtel Foundation, CellularOne, Drees Homes, Sandy Spring Bank, Spectrum Federal Credit Union, and Weis Markets. Carillon level sponsors are Adelphia, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Roy Rogers- a Plamondon Company, and The Frederick News Post. Bandshell level sponsors are BB&T and the Frederick Arts Council.
Celebrate Frederick hopes everyone has a wonderful and safe 4th of July. For a complete schedule of this year’s event, to volunteer, or for more information, call (301)600-CITY (2489) or visit www.celebratefrederick.com.
