THE GOOD DEALE BLUEGRASS BAND FEATURING MIKE AULDRIDGE
TO PLAY IN BAKER PARK

The Summer Concert Series Committee of Celebrate Frederick, Inc. is proud to announce that The Good Deale Bluegrass Band featuring Mike Auldridge will perform at the Summer Concert Series on Sunday, July 2nd at the Baker Park bandshell. The free performance will begin at 7 p.m.

The Good Deale Bluegrass Band has enjoyed rapid success in the Mid-Atlantic region since its formation in 2000. With two critically acclaimed CD’s to their credit, featuring a number of original songs penned by their members, the Good Deale Bluegrass Band provides audiences with well executed contemporary bluegrass, professionally matched with a very entertaining stage show. The Good Deale Bluegrass Band has annual performances scheduled at major Mid-Atlantic music venues including The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA, The Ram’s Head Tavern in Annapolis, MD, and The Avalon Theater in Easton, MD. The band has opened for such country music greats as Waylon Jennings and Charlie Daniels.

Plan to arrive early to enjoy a free Carillon performance in Baker Park beginning
at 6 p.m. featuring Margo Halsted, Carillonneur Emeritus from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. Great snack foods and drinks will be available from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the Concert Series performance.

While the concerts are FREE to the public, the Summer Concert Series Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. Non-perishable items such as canned meats and vegetables, soups, peanut butter, cereal, rice and pastas are requested. All items collected benefit the Frederick City Community Action Agency Food Bank. Items will be collected at the new Information Booth located at the top of the bandshell steps in Baker Park. A special thank you to Drees Homes for this generous donation.

In the event of inclement weather, please tune to 99.9 WFRE or 103.1 WAFY for news of event cancellation. Due to the travel time and set-up by various artists and the sound production company, decisions regarding weather are made by 4:00 PM. Therefore, if the weather is inclement at this time, listen to the radio for confirmation of the evening’s performance being cancelled.

This year’s programming would not be possible without the generous support of the following corporate sponsors: Spires level sponsors are Bechtel Foundation, CellularOne, Drees Homes, Sandy Spring Bank, Spectrum Federal Credit Union and Weis Markets. Carillon level sponsors are Adelphia, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Roy Rogers-A Plamondon Company, and The Frederick News Post. Bandshell level sponsors are BB&T and the Frederick Arts Council.

The Summer Concert Series will continue each Sunday evening at 7 p.m. through August 27th. For a complete schedule, to volunteer, or for more information, call 301-600-CITY (2489) or visit www.BakerParkConcerts.com
