TWO PHASES OF WORK ON JEFFERSON STREET WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT CONTINUE NEXT WEEK
Frederick, Md. --- Please be advised that Mid-Atlantic Utilities, Inc. will complete the bypass piping installation and will begin saw cutting the pavement for the water main trench on Jefferson Street, Phase 2, from Catoctin Avenue to South Street, during the week of June 19th. Additionally, a second crew will begin the water services on Jefferson Street, Phase 1, from Prospect Boulevard to Catoctin Avenue. Please note that with the beginning of Phase 2, a traffic detour will be in place between Catoctin Ave. and South Street for all northbound traffic on Jefferson Street. The intended detour route for all traffic heading north on Jefferson Street will be Catoctin Ave. to either South Street or Patrick Street. The southbound lane of Jefferson Street will remain open to traffic during Phase 2. The water main replacement will continue on Jefferson Street for approximately eight to10 months. Construction activity will be seen on Jefferson Street, between Prospect Blvd. and West Patrick St. through November 2006.
IMPACT TO AREA:
Traffic control devices such as traffic cones, signs and arrow boards will be used to limit traffic to one lane during the hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Temporary traffic detours will be installed on a daily basis, as needed, from 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. During these temporary detours, only local traffic and deliveries will be permitted on the street being worked on.
Please exercise caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the temporary bypass piping (blue pipe along street).
Please note that during the progress of this work, parking along the street is strongly discouraged. During non-working hours, miscellaneous equipment and materials will be stored within the parking lanes of the streets as necessary.
We apologize for any inconvenience this street work may have on you. Thank you for your cooperation!
