SUMMERFEST FAMILY THEATRE SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

Music, magic, Mother Goose and a free Carnival! Summerfest Family Theatre comes back to Baker Park beginning July 8th and includes a line-up to delight children and families of all ages! The season runs eight consecutive Saturdays from July 8th through August 26th. Each show begins at 7:00 p.m. and is held in the Bandshell. Don’t miss opening night when national award-winning musical group Banana Slug String Band duo with Doug “Dirt” and “Airy” Larry make a stop in Baker Park direct from California! In addition to all of the outstanding headliners, local performers will also be featured each evening to open the show. While the event is FREE, the Summerfest Family Theatre committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission to support the Frederick Food Bank.

The performance line-up follows:
July 8 Banana Slugs Strings Band – a musical program.
July 15 Flumpa and Friends, Live! – a musical science adventure. Opening act courtesy of the Sportsplex.
July 22 Safety First – a safety program hosted by the Frederick City Police & United Fire Company. Opening act featuring Pizzazz Show Choir of Monocacy Middle School.
July 29 COMSTAR Federal Credit Union presents The Lion’s Whiskers by Catskill Puppet Theater. Opening act courtesy of the Quality Language Foundation.
August 5 Speed and Thro – high energy magic. Opening act featuring the YMCA Youth Ballet.
August 12 Living Planet presented by Magpie – a musical program. Miss Frederick, Tauri Summers, to open the program.
August 19 Mother Goose on the Loose presented by The Fun Company – a theatrical performance. Opening act featuring the MD Elite All Stars.
August 26 SUMMERFEST CARNIVAL from 5 – 7 PM, featuring amusements, pony rides, balloon sculptures, crafts, wandering entertainment, and costumed characters. Carnival followed by the Skip Wizards at 7 PM on the bandshell stage.
