FREDERICK’S 4TH BEST PATRIOTIC DRESSED COMPETITION
IN BAKER PARK
Frederick’s 4th – An Independence Day Celebration Committee is thrilled about the success of the Fifth Annual Best Patriotic Dressed Competition. Many came dressed and decked out in red, white and blue spirit! This year’s competition was hosted by 106.9 The Eagle at the bandshell in Baker Park.
Twenty-five contestants took the stage at 5:15pm for a chance to strut their patriotic apparel and be crowned “Best Dressed.” Susie Miller and Marie Floyd judged this year’s competition. Participants were judged on who looked the most patriotic, based on originality and the best use of red, white, and blue. Tammy Johns took first place in the Young Adult category (ages 10-14), winning passes to Skate Frederick. Krista Browne won in the Adult category (ages 15 and up), receiving passes to the Weinberg Center. Little ones even showed their spirit in the Second Annual Patriotic Parade! Each participating child received a special ribbon. A special thanks to our Chair Person Dawn Tripp, as well as our two judges Susie Miller and Marie Floyd.
All of this year’s events would not be possible without the generous support of many of Frederick’s local businesses. The Spires level sponsors are Bechtel Foundation, CellularOne, Drees Homes, Sandy Spring Bank, Spectrum Federal Credit Union, and Weis Markets. Carillon level sponsors are Adelphia, COMSTAR Federal Credit Union, Roy Rogers- a Plamondon Company, and The Frederick News Post. Bandshell level sponsors are BB&T and the Frederick Arts Council.
Celebrate Frederick hopes everyone has a wonderful and safe 4th of July. If you are interested in becoming a committee member or volunteer, Celebrate Frederick is always looking for new faces and ideas.
